Triangle Logic HELM Control Tutorial

WELCOME TO HELM

HELM is probably the best webhost control panel on the market, and we’re offering it to all of our customers as a part of their hosting package with Triangle Logic. There really is no comparison with other web control panels, as HELM provides most all of the features and functions any domain owner could ask for. If you can’t do it in HELM, it either cannot be done, should not be done, or an update to allow it is in the works. It’s that good. So let’s get started learning how to use it.

First off, you need to get to it. Click here to open a new window with HELM in it. Once your domain has been activated, you can get to HELM using http://webcontrol.yourdomain.com, where yourdomain.com is your actual domain name, such as zydhek.net is one of my actual domain names. This will automatically redirect you to https://webcontrol.trianglelogic.net where you can log in.

Once this page loads, you’ll need to enter your username and password. Your username is your Triangle Logic account number, which you will find in the initial welcome email you received when we set up your account. You can also ask us what your account number is if you’ve deleted or misplaced that email. At present, custom usernames are not allowed for this area, so for now, you’re stuck with what you get. Your account number will be in the form of TLC# where # is a unique number that identifies you and you alone. Your password will be either randomly-generated (if this is your first visit) or will be the one you set up on a previous visit.

While HELM allows for multiple languages, at present, English is the only one currently available on our system.

For interface options, you can opt from one of four “skins” or “themes” to use for your control panel at this time: Blue, Green, Red, or XP. I personally like the look of the XP theme, but to each their own. The features available in each theme are the same.

If you’re on a single-user computer in a secure location, you can choose to mark the Remember Me box to avoid the login process on your next visit. Be aware, though, that if you choose this, your hosting account settings may be available for most anyone who uses your computer to access, modify, or even delete, so consider the drawbacks before you select this box.

Now click the Logon button. If you entered your username and password correctly, you will be given a screen indicating that you’ve successfully logged in. You can click Continue from here or wait a couple seconds for the screen to update. You can also opt to log out again, but to me that seems a bit silly and a waste of time and effort.
